Animal Kingdom(left) won the Kentucky 2011 |
Animal Kingdom faced long unusual, which, of course, means a big expenditure. The horse's morning line was set at 30-to-1.
Nehro entered with a morning line of 6-to-1. Here is what our horse racing expert, Matt Gardner, had to say about this horse earlier to the race.
Nehro is a properly rising son of Mineshaft that should enjoy the mile and a half distance, the long Churchill stretch drive, and a fast early speed. He's a legit competitor.
The show horse, Mucho Macho Man, seemed be the subject of a lot of gambles on the merits of his name alone, if the NBC broadcast is any significant indicator. Here is what Gardner had said about this horse, who had a morning line of 12-to-1.
His works at Churchill have been strong over the past two weeks and he's drawn in the perfect spot for a horse that wants to haunt the early speed. He seems like a good bet to at least be in the trifecta and he appears as a serious win candidate.
