June A. Peters, 89, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at Bellin Memorial Hospital. June was born on Dec. 8, 1921, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the now late John and Lillian Rosemait. She married Ernie Peters in 1949 and the couple enjoyed over 20 years together. Ernie preceded her in death in 1969. She then re-located to Door County to live in a more rural setting and sought a job at the Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay. June had a passion and a love of reading and enjoyed going to work everyday. She had a special place in her heart for all kinds of animals and was a huge advocator and supporter of the Humane Society.

June is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Perry Macco, Green Bay; two grandchildren, Emily Macco, Green Bay; Jennifer Peters, Milwaukee. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Peters.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Hansen's Serenity House 1644 Lime Kiln Road with Sheila DeLuca officiating.

In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations may be made to the Bay Area Humane Society, 1830 Radisson Street, Green Bay, WI 54302, in honor of June's love of animals. The family would like to offer a special thank-you to the staffs of Bellin Memorial Hospital for all of their care and compassion. Also, a warm note of appreciation to the staffs of Anna's House in New Franken for their loving care and kindness.
