Bronx Bus Accident, (AP) – NYFD official: 13 killed in tour bus accident Bronx 13 people were killed and eight in critical condition after a bus overturned on a highway in New England on Saturday morning when he was cut by a tractor-trailer. The truck did not stop and police are on the hunt for the driver.

The bus overturned near the line of Westchester County at about half past five ET skidded about 200 meters on the side of a pole sign on the south side of Interstate at Exit 14 for Hutchinson Parkway. The signpost at the top torn off the bus along the line of the window, almost two-thirds the length of the vehicle.

The bus was carrying 32 passengers. The driver was among the survivors and was able to talk.

The wounded were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and Jacobi.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg the death toll to in a statement Saturday, calling the incident “horrible”.

“We – and the entire city – prayers, thoughts and condolences are with the victims and their families and loved ones,” according to Bloomberg.

New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the majority of victims were Asian and were aged to 50 years.

“We do not have minor injuries at this time, everyone is considered serious, said Mr. Kelly.

Emergency Alert System in New York sent a message asking family members who need information regarding the accident to contact 311. New York opened an assistance center for the family to provide information and services to the families of victims of bus accident.

The bus returning to Chinatown in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. It is up based in Brooklyn Tours World Wide. He had not yet issued a statement Saturday.

All traffic was released at exit 21 of I-287 westbound Cross Westchester Expressway.

Motorists familiar with the area may wish to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.
