Caleb Hanie : Jay Cutler got hurt and left the game in the third quarter. Todd Collins was woeful in his brief stint in relief. And for better or for worse, thanks to the NFL's third quarterback rule, the Bears' Super Bowl hopes now lie in the hands of Caleb Hanie, prompting the obvious question: Who is Caleb Hanie?
Here's the brief introduction to the Bears' third-string quarterback:
Hanie is 25. He's a three-year NFL veteran out of Colorado State, and went to high school in Texas. He had completed eight of his 14 passes as an NFL quarterback entering today for no touchdowns. He had thrown one interception.
He has a little over 6,000 Twitter followers. He was 19th nationally in pass efficiency in his senior season at Colorado State. And now, in the NFC Championship Game, he's the Bears' only hope.
Given the throw he made to set up the Bears' only touchdown, though, that might not be a bad thing.
