Paul Revere

Sarah Palin's bus travelling took her to Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday. While visiting Paul Revere's home, the possible presidential candidate bungled the history of the notable midnight ride.

Of Paul Revere, Sarah said, "He who warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells and making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free."

Revere, logically, notified the residents of Charlestown that the British were arriving on the night of April 18, 1775 using lanterns ("one if by land, two if by sea") - not bells.
