Ayman Al-zawahri, A militant group Al Qaeda  in Iraq vowed to support the organization’s second in command, Ayman al-Zawahri, and promised more attacks in retaliation for the death of Osama bin Laden in the hands of U.S. forces in Pakistan.

In a statement posted on an Islamic web site forum on Monday, the caliph of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISC), Abu Baker al-Baghdadi al-Husseini al-Qurashi, lamented the death of Bin Laden.

“I tell our brothers in al-Qaida and the top of them Mujahid Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahri … be happy, you men of faith in the Islamic State of Iraq who are following the right path and will not stop smoking or being forced out, “he said in a statement.

“I swear by God, the blood from the blood and the destruction of the destruction,” a clear reference to the attacks of revenge for the death of Bin Laden.

Zawahri, an Egyptian-born physician who met bin Laden in the mid 1980′s when both were in Pakistan to support the fight against the Soviet guerrillas in Afghanistan, has been considered a lieutenant of Al Qaeda.

ISI is considered by intelligenceanlysts that have been created by Al Qaeda in Iraq, a local umbrella group of insurgent organizations.

Iraqi army and police have been on high alert for revenge attacks as Bin Laden is killing U.S. command in Pakistan. Iraq became a major battleground for al Qaeda after US-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein.

Security officials have said that Bin Laden’s death earlier this month may have little practical impact on Al Qaeda in Iraq, the Islamist insurgency weakened but still deadly they could launch attacks during the next decade.

Al Qaeda in Iraq may seek immediate revenge for the death of the world’s most wanted man, but in the long term will likely be a thorn in the Iraqi government a destabilizing force, security officials said.

Thursday, a car bomb killed 20 people and wounded 80 in a police building in the predominantly Shiite city of Hilla.
