Edible Arrangements

Edible Arrangements—  After spending more than two centuries of free-market theory, leading economists around  the globe confirmed Thursday that the basic principles of capitalism had been “undeniably disproved” by the continued endurance of the designer fruit-basket company Edible Arrangements.

According to experts, the Connecticut-based franchise, which put in orders skewered pieces of fruit into displays unclearly resembling floral bouquets, has defied  all modern economic models, expanding continuously for the past decade despite its complete lack of any visible consumer appeal.

“In theory, the market should have done away with Edible Arrangements long ago,” said American Economic Association president Orley Ashenfelter, who added that one of the essential suppositions of capitalism is the thought that businesses producing unwanted goods or services will fail. “That is how it is believed to work. yet somehow, despite offering no product of any worth whatsoever, this company not only makes payroll every week, but also generates large  profits.”

“It’s mind-boggling,” Ashenfelter added. “I honestly have never  heard the name Edible Arrangements revealed in conversation before. Acutely, has anyone?”
Economists say the contents of this basket nullify everything contained in the writings of Adam Smith.
