Gonzaga University, This is the first time Gonzaga University has been a No. 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The lowest seed the Bulldogs have ever been is a 14 in their first appearance in 1995 when No. 3 University of Maryland took an 87-63 victory. Gonzaga has been a No. 12 seed once and a No. 10 seed three times for their other double-digit seeds. The best seed the Bulldogs have had was a No. 2 seed in 2004. Gonzaga was a No. 3 seed in back-to- back years of 2005-06.

All-America guard Jimmer Fredette scored 34 points Saturday to power #3 seed Brigham Young (32-4) to an 89-67 victory over #11 seed Gonzaga in a third-round game of the NCAA Tournament in the Pepsi Center. Fredette sank a 3-pointer with 11:31 left in the first half to give BYU an 18-17 and the Cougars never trailed the rest of the game. The crowd reverberated with chants of “You Got Jimmered,” “You Got Jimmered” as the final seconds ticked off the clock.

Sophomore forward Elias Harris and senior guard Steven Gray led Gonzaga in scoring with 18 points apiece while junior center Robert Sacre added 17 points.
