Phoenix, A Qwest truck crashed into a home through brick wall in Phoenix on Tuesday morning. A 4-year-old child injured in the house.

A mother with her three children lives in the house. At about 10 a.m. Tuesday the Feb, 22, a utility truck careened across 27th Avenue through the wall across a yard and into a Phoenix house.

In this accident only one 4-year old child in the home and the truck driver is slightly injured while the other inhabitant remain safe and sound. The injured were taken to the hospital.

An hour after the wreck, the Qwest truck was being towed away and Phoenix city engineers were trying to determine the structural integrity of the house, said Phoenix Police Department spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson.

"We have no indication at this time that the driver was impaired," Thompson said.

Thompson said the police's first concern is for the victim. He also said that after the driver has been treated, investigators will talk to him about the circumstances of the accident on 27th Avenue between Bethany Home and Camelback Roads.

Qwest Communications spokesman Mark Molzen said Qwest will fully cooperate with the investigation and that Qwest's main concern is for the health of their technician and the 4-year-old who was injured.

The 4-year-old's injury was a result of flying debris, including concrete, wood and drywall, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Mark McCreary, 25, whose wife and children were in the home, said he was thankful that two of his children and wife were doing relatively OK and that the 4-year-old "seems to be all right."

McCreary said he was away from home, "paying the water bill," when, "I got a call from my wife Cindy and she was screaming, 'You have got to come home.' "

McCreary said he is renting the home and is not sure where his family will live now.
