Billy Shue, 27, of Charlotte, North Carolina gets the second position and Anthony Ivey, 43, of Tabor City, North carolina, Placed at third position in the 5k race on saturday.
Castles' result was a personal best time, just over two hours and 40 minutes, per the AP, Saturday’s race officially was the 14th Bi-Lo Marathon. The 13th running was canceled last year because of snow.
"I'm just euphoric," Castles told the Myrtle Beach Sun News. She'll head to the Olympic Trials in Houston to compete for a spot on the U.S. team.
This year's marathon was touted as the most technically-advanced in its 14 year history, as each runner had a tracking chip in their bib and progress could be monitored via iPhone, iPad or Android apps.
