Dodge Viper, Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles confirmed that the viper will revive for the 2013 model year. This was the third generation of Viper which reborn after two years off.The 2013 Viper is expected to go on sale in the summer of 2012.

The Viper will be completely resesigned but styling remains familiar. Also familiar will be the engine. Expect an updated version of the Viper’s V10 engine. Left Lane News says that upgrades to the 8.4-liter V10 like direct injection and Fiat’s MultiAir system should result in over 700-hp.

The biggest changes in the 2013 Viper will come courtesy of Chrysler’s recent tie-up with Fiat. Dodge wants to make the Viper, which has a reputation for brutality, more friendly to drive. Gilles says that Fiat will lend some support to make the 2013 Dodge Viper more approachable than previous models.

“We will use their expertise to open the performance envelope in the Viper,” Gilles said. “Fiat has an awesome ability to tune cars. I want the new Viper to be a more forgiving car to drive and accessible to more people. We’ve never had stability control on a high-performance car, which is about to happen on the new car.”
