Janis Joplin, Tonight, Haley Reinhart did her Janis Joplin impression by singing Take A Little Piece of My Heart on American Idol 2011. She is one of nine contestants left in the reality show competition, and does great as a rocker, which is a bit of luck for this contender this week since the theme revolves around Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame contributions.
Following a rousing performance letting all of her inhibitions fall away, Haley Reinhart stood on stage to receive high praise from the three judges.
Steven Tyler told Haley straight out that she “nailed it” while Jennifer Lopez called this artist that she is “a strong contender” for the AI title.
Meanwhile, Randy Jackson was happy Haley Reinhart came out and really blew away the audiences (and, obviously the judges), not only mentioning how he likes her “bluesy..tone” but also that she is “welcome back” — meaning that this soulful singer is now among the top of the heap in his opinion.
